Literary Events & Dramatics

There is no denying the impact that literacy has on almost every aspect of life. Children who have developed strong reading skills perform better in school and have a healthier self-image. They become lifelong learners. When students struggle with reading comprehension, they often find themselves struggling in other areas of their education. Teachers and reading specialists can have a monumental impact on the trajectory of a student's life.

The literary events organized by our school are as follows :

  • Extempore: - An extempore is a form of public speaking that involves the person delivering a short speech on a topic unknown beforehand. It judges the ability of the individual to think on-spot, their knowledge over wide-ranging subjects and presentation skills.
  • Creative Writing: - Creative writing, a form of artistic expression, draws on the imagination to convey meaning through the use of imagery, narrative, and drama.
  • Debate: - A debate is a discussion or structured contest about an issue or a resolution. A formal debate involves two sides: one supporting a resolution and one opposing it. Such a debate is bound by rules previously agreed upon. Debates may be judged in order to declare a winning side
  • Recitation:- The word comes from the Latin prefix re, "again," and the word citare, "to summon." Summoning again from memory is recitation. So, When someone does a recitation, they say aloud a piece of poetry or other writing that they have learned.
  • Declamation:- Declamation requires students to select a speech that was delivered in public and perform an excerpt of that speech to an audience.
